…and is the title of a lead promo video for his company Tripp Apparel.
I stumbled upon it quite by accident looking for clips of Bristol’s new TV series by the same name:
(Is it me or does this guy even look like Levi?)
So it will be interesting to see who claims the name – it’s possible of course that someone at Tripp Apparel is taking advantage of Bristol’s TV series to gather youtube hits – but it should be noted that the company itself was here first.
Knowing how the Palins are so territorial about their ‘brand’ - this should be a fun ride

They haven’t trademarked Tripp’s name, so far as I know. They’ll use it, and he’ll have to send a cease-and-desist letter, and then they’ll whine about how they’re being picked on. And by the time all that happens, Bristol’s show will have gone down in flames.

I imagine they are standing in front of the trademark office as we speak.

I sent them an e-mail – “congratulations on your new show Life’s a Tripp starring the pregnant teen Bristol Palin.
Should be good for sales. Too bad the Palin brand has been linked to the Tripp brand.”
Sincerely, Dis Gusted

Ya thank you for that. I think its funny how everyone thinks a street wear kid who skates, and parties would even follow a political ‘figure’, let alone tail gate off a name that was given to me. Ill be honest with you, I don’t even have cable. I haven’t for the past 9 years. this wasn’t a ‘way to get views’ or increase sales. Like we would want people in their drama wearing our stuff. In the video, all we were trying to con-vay was to follow your dreams, like I did. So, Mr/Mrs Gusted don’t be so quick to judge us like we are some giant corporation with plotting consultants and strategic ideas. Its just one guy, a sole proprietor, who is just in love with art and design trying to follow his dream, so thank you for the bashing and have a great day

I got a reply -

Did you clue them in? This is a great sub-plot! I eagerly await new developments. You best tell them that the Palins will immediately try to trademark the name.

They have trademarked “Tripp Attire.” I wish they would go grab the name “Tripp”.

GREAT find!!! Hope he gets some retribution for his efforts! He needs to contact Lifetime!

Making a big public stink will only drive free publicity and viewers….see the nun’s book at Amazon #16 after the Pope had a connipiption fit over the nuns wanting to help the poor, etc.

another e-mail -
“Thanks *** for informing us but we are definitely no way shape or form trying to “increase sales” by tail coating off of political drama. That video we made was a year long project and released before that show will even air.
We definitely don’t want an affiliation With all of that.
Thank you for reaching out

YaY! Good answer! And it’s also a very good video – full of meaning and passion and just a little hope
June 13, 2012 at 12:55 pm
The guy in the video reminds me more of Wil Wheaton than Levi. It’s pretty dark, although as someone else noted, there’s a little hope at the end. IMO the overall effect was pretty grim.
Congrats to Dis Gusted for reaching out to the apparel guy. Once the show starts, he may regret his laissez faire attitude about them using the same title.

I am so glad I stumbled onto this discuss forum, this is Joanthon Tripp, owner of Tripp Apparel. Can someone please fill me in why this is such an issue?
I do have the trademark Tripp Apparel (Ser. # 85513616) Tripp is my last name, and what i’m researching is Tripp will be the grandsons first name? Whats the big deal? They are trying to trademark a kids name?
“Life’s a Tripp, Tripp forever” was to be our slogan/theme for the season. And for all you who are curious, since Dis Gusted contacted me, we have NOT had any increase in web hit are sales whatsoever. So all your theories/accusations are 100% false.
I dont really know or really care to be honest. I just wanted to be a little more educated in something that I am affiliated with because of a name. I guess all i can walk out of this with is, “Life a Tripp” is very un-original. It was a childish slogan people used to tell me upon introduction. That, or “Dont Tripp”. Maybe next time I’ll use that one haha!
