This afternoon my husband’s father lost his battle with dementia, Altzheimer’s Disease and a shrinking heart valve. His body and mind became frail several months ago…  he surrendered his dignity to nappies and hospital orderlies a few weeks ago… today his soul cried for release and he just – let go.

He served his country for twenty years, worked as a carpenter for another forty and was a loyal mason involved in local charity work for over fifty years. He is survived by two sons, three granddaughters and a boisterous assortment of Scottish and Irish relatives, alhough he outlived most every rellie of his generation.

We wish him peace and promise to take good care of his and mum’s roses.
