I’m coming up to the finish line on the summary – and I have to ask – is this photo of Sarah?
It certainly is the red jumper she wore in Iowa – it was posted on a right-wing blog in a blurb about Sarah having run in the SLRC half marathon in Iowa (linked to comments here by Venefica) but bears no resemblance to the Iowa course.
Comments were made about it looking like Alaska.
If anyone is able to date this I would appreciate the help thanks ๐

I thought the Iowa top was cropped. And she had on long pants?

It is a different number than the pictures from Iowa

I think it is in Alaska – from my memory of what has been posted on blogs over the past three years. It was from 2008 or earlier I think. Latest would be 2009. Could be the same red top, couldn’t it? Again, I really do not “know” much about the pic but I think I recall that it was a shorter run, like 5K or 10K at the most. She did run a marathon somewhere though; pre-August2008.
I suppose it would be good to research to find out what races she has run in over the past 5 yrs and find her times/results.
Good luck. Hope someone has a link to the actual info on the pic.

I’ve got her record of the Humpy marathon in 2005 – and there was talk of her being in another in 2003 (Running with the Devil perhaps) but there’;s no documentation of it or any race other than the current race in Iowa and the 2005 record time set of 3:59 at Humpy.
Was hoping someone in AK might recognise the parking lot and the ‘no bangs’ Sarah era.

In the upper left it almost looks like mountains in the distance which would mean no for Iowa.
September 23, 2011 at 4:58 am
Different shoes, too.
September 23, 2011 at 5:02 am
Those trees might be black spruce, which is compatible with Alaska — but not Iowa, they’re boreal trees — but it’s hard to tell for sure. Too bad no license plates showing on any of those vehicles.
September 23, 2011 at 5:03 am
(I could probably tell about the trees if this photo were higher resolution.)
September 23, 2011 at 5:03 am
Different number, shorts, socks, shoes, probably sunglasses (harder to tell), and no visor. Not Iowa 2011.

If the 2005 record time at 3:59 is accurate, that was roughly a 9-9:15 race pace, which is more believable than her 1:46 Storm Lake 1/2 marathon time which would be an 8-8:15 race pace. I’m guessing she would have been in better shape in `05 than now. This photo isn’t Storm Lake.

Not Humpy’s Marathon, 2005. She was #141.

Pretty funny, that’s where the “sub-four” thing comes from. Uh, okay, well, it is. 3:59:36.8 6/10 of a second later, it would no longer count as “sub-four”.
This photo is 2003 Curtis Menard Run in Wasilla. 5K, time – 23:59.3

Interesting…
http://www.frontiersman.com/articles/2003/06/23/sports/sports2.txt
According to this results list, the 2003 Curtis Menard Memorial run had two parts – 5k run and a 10k run. All three Palin girls – Sarah, Bristol and Willow ran in the 5k…
thanks everyone ๐

I personally wouldn’t accept at face value any Palin race times. Maybe she actually did run those races, but my hunch is that she picked out the “cheatable” Storm Lake course with an expert eye.
September 23, 2011 at 11:42 am
Interesting: Toad took 55:28.50 minutes – almost twice as long as $arah…
September 23, 2011 at 11:44 am
BTW: i just realized: She did 5K in 24 minutes??? That would be pretty darn good, wouldn’t it? A less-than-5-minute mile? WHOA!
September 23, 2011 at 1:59 pm
@fedup – well you know how badly my math always turns out – but I thought that at age 39 that was pretty darn fast for a mother of 4 who hadn’t run in a race since high school – and then set a record for her time in a full marathon two years later.
On the other hand, the Curtis Menard run in 2003 brings up whole new issues as it was a race inside a race (5k and 10k) and maybe this is where she figured out how to rort the system. My guess is the red jumper some how plays a role. Pretty odd for someone who purportedly ‘runs a lot’ to wear the same sweaty running shirt from 2003 through 2011.
@kat – I completely agree.
@ akshutterbug – if you’re out there plz check your emails!
September 23, 2011 at 4:34 pm
@fedup – just noticed you made the same pace calculation I first made, dividing the pace by 5 as if the race were 5 miles long, not 5 kilometers long. I found a page that will do the calculations for us – I know I sure could use the help, lol!
http://www.raceplaceevents.com/5kpace7.htm
Putting in 00:23:59 into the pace calculator for Sarah’s time at the 5K, I got a pace per mile of 7 minutes 43 seconds. A 5 K is about 3.2 miles – amazing she could be this much older and yet manage to run an entire half marathon and barely slow down from her 5 K pace. But, I still think she did not run the entire half marathon, so it is a moot point ๐
September 24, 2011 at 8:23 am
ArmchairJane: AAAhhh… I ‘assumed’ (:/) that 5 K would mean 5 miles, since we are not in a metric country in the US. (I grew up with Metric in Europe, and the abbreviation for kilometer is km… ๐ )
Then, at least, the time is a bit more credible (for* that* race, not the most recent one, LOL!)
September 24, 2011 at 10:21 am
Todd took 55+ minutes to finish a 5K? I would have to make an effort to walk slowly to take that long to traverse 5K…and I’m female…close to the age Sarah is now. But maybe helping one’s spouse cheat takes time?

BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN
Why American men should boycott American women
http://boycottamericanwomen.blogspot.com
I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, donโt know how to cook or clean, donโt want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?
American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.
This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.
BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN!

Dear John,
Thank you for (once again) reinforcing what most women come to understand as early as childhood: Men are dicks.
You’d be wise to invest your #$4.99 in a good quality blow-up doll.

Translation of Rambos post:
‘An American woman once laughed at my package and now I dedicate my life to trying to justify why I cannot get a woman.’

How strange. John Rambo trolled my blog once, and trolled the blog of a friend of mine several times.

lol.
She is still running.
la Palin the blithering idiot, showed up at a Trump rally in San Diego yesterday.
35 protesters were arrested. Trump isn’t showing up at any ralleys today but Sanders has 3 scheduled to goose up fundraising.
I wonder what cabinet position Trump intends for Palin.
She has lost her looks and he likes hot, hot, hot babes around him..
The race is still on for Palin.
